What Is DTF Printing?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing works by printing your design onto a special film, then heat-pressing it onto a garment. Unlike sublimation, it works on virtually any fabric type and color — including dark garments and blends — which makes it a great fit for logos, small designs, and names or numbers.

Pressing Guide

Press Right.

Our transfers are hot peel. Follow these steps every time for clean, durable results. Always test before a full run — equipment and environment vary.

01 Lint Roll

Use a lint roller to remove any lint, dust, or debris from the press area before applying heat.

02 Pre-Press

Press the garment for 5–7 seconds to remove moisture. Critical — moisture causes poor adhesion.

03 Position & Press

Place the transfer face-down and press per the settings shown. Test a few prints to dial in your specific setup.

04 Hot Peel

In one smooth, medium-to-quick motion, peel from the corner. Do not peel slowly — this is a hot peel film.

05 Post-Press

Optional: post-press for 5 seconds with a teflon sheet over the design for extra durability.

*Recommended Settings:
Temperature 300 – 330°F
Press Time 10–15 sec
Pressure Medium – High
Peel Hot Peel

*NOTE: When pressing, place a teflon sheet between the press and the design. This prevents scorching and ensures even pressure.

File Specs

Artwork Requirements.

We print your file as-is. Submit correctly and your results will be perfect. For "Print As Is" orders we are not responsible for quality issues from files that don't meet these specs.

Required Specs
  • 300dpi minimum resolution – lower res files will print blurry and are submitted at your own risk.

  • Transparent background required – not white or any color. Transparent only.

  • Trim artwork tight – no extra artboard space. Excess space will be printed.

  • File size = print size – the image must be the exact dimensions you expect to print. We do not scale.

  • Do not mirror or reverse – submit in final orientation.

  • Check edges for transparent pixels – semi-transparent edges produce a white halo on the finished transfer.
